What This Module Trains 🎯

Your second Pattern step, from Eddie Torres and Eddie Jr, built on the Star Pattern.

The Move 🧠

  • Star Pattern from 8 and 1, no pauses, then and 7. Ronde. I drop on seven and I do a circle of the leg with my right leg, really kicking the leg to the front so it is drawing a nice big circle.
  • 7 8 and 1, knee up. Passé. It is like you are brushing your back leg here with the foot, and this is called a Passé, or a coupé in ballet.
  • Tap and 2, then back. Mambo Jazz. It is a little bit like a Mambo Jazz.
  • Cross on 5 and 6. Heel drop. I open and go with my heel and I can lean, drop, drop, and that is called a heel drop.

How the Drill Runs 🔁

  1. Count in from 6 7, run it on the music.
  2. Again with the jump, then six and cross.

Technique Cues 💡

  • The Ronde is slow, the rest is syncopation.
  • Stomp when you cross in front.
  • Spin on 7, jump on 1.

💡 Drill it: Run it again tomorrow, and the day after, 10 minutes a day for a month.
