Knowledge of Performance vs Knowledge of Results

Also called: knowledge of performance, knowledge of results, kp, kp vs kr, kr, stop asking if

Definition

Two feedback types from schema theory: Knowledge of Results (KR) asks whether you hit the target and best serves beginners building a map of timing and space, while Knowledge of Performance (KP) asks how the movement was executed (weight path, foot contact, hip position) and drives growth once outcomes are reliable. Advanced practice shifts from yes/no outcome questions to specific process questions about movement quality.
