Definition
Saying the rhythm out loud (for example ta-ka-ta) while dancing, which couples the auditory and motor systems via the dorsal auditory pathway and a shared rhythmic timing grid to improve timing consistency and spatial stability of footwork. It works through rhythmic priming (locking in a pattern before moving) and movement sonification (voice and feet giving each other instant feedback), with each syllable started at the moment the foot lands.
