Not Just A Hand Change π
Getting into the cross position could be done the boring way. This module does not:
We're not just gonna change hands like this. We're gonna do something a little bit cooler.
You travel into a cross body, give yourself a Hook turn, and flick the hands.
A Flick You Do Not Finish π
The first flick is deliberately incomplete:
I'm gonna do like a flick, but I'm not gonna finish, like release the hand.
You catch on 7, connecting with the palm down through the wrist.
The Hardest Part Of The Course β οΈ
After the toss on 3 you immediately begin turning again, and the instruction is to leave the first turn unfinished:
Try to not fully finish your turn, because we're gonna go straight back here for half a right.
That is what makes it difficult:
So this is a lot of changing of half turns. It's a bit tricky for the leaders, so pay a lot of attention.
Flickomania, Again π
On 5 you look for the hand and try to catch at the elbow, then flick down behind the back and lead with the elbow.
This is very similar to Flickomania from the Combo from the previous course.
The Send Off π
The finishing move has a name and a mechanic. Get out of the line so you can step on 1, then on 2 pull as far as possible with the right hand.
You're sending her in front. It's a send off.
As she goes back you release the hand from the Hammerlock and trace her back.
Trace To The Elbow If You Can πͺ
There is a better version of the catch, offered as an upgrade rather than a requirement:
Catching here to the hand, tracing to the hand, if you can get to the elbow then it's even cooler.
The House Ending π
By this point in the course the finish should look familiar, and Pavle says so himself:
I think you've noticed that we like to finish our combos with the check cross body.
π‘ Drill it: Drill the half turns alone: toss, half right, and stop before the turn completes. That stopping point is the entire combination.
π― Community
Practice without judging yourself. Every dancer started exactly where you are. Be patient. This lands in the body over months, not days. Record yourself. You will see things you cannot feel. Post it in the community tab, or on Instagram tagging the page.
