Best Online Salsa On2 Courses in 2026: An Honest Comparison, Including Ours

We run one of the platforms below, so read this with that in mind. To keep it useful anyway, three rules. Every price, lesson count and claim is quoted from the provider's own public website as of 3 November 2026, and where a count can be read two ways we give both. Where we think a competitor is the better choice for a type of dancer, we say so. And we do not rank the list: the right platform depends on what you want, which is why each entry ends with who it suits.

One thing to know before comparing anything: not all of these teach the same dance. Some are On2-only, some teach On1 and On2, and "salsa" with no qualifier usually means On1 outside New York. If you are not sure which timing you want, start with Salsa On1 vs Salsa On2.

Ours. Founded in 2025 and launched publicly in April 2026 by Pavle Popovic, a two-time European salsa champion certified in learning experience design. It has the most separate progressive courses on this page: ten (Salsa On2 101, 201 and 301, Partnerwork 101, 201 and 301, Pachanga, Chachacha & Boogaloo, Bodymovement Mastery and Musicality), plus 19 choreographies, six single-move Dance Toolkits and four narrated audiobooks (the history of salsa, a training-science guide, Salsa Musicality and the Social Night Guide). Together that is 1500+ lessons: mostly short video classes, plus written notes with audio narration, and quizzes. Several platforms below measure their library in hours instead, and hours are not a like-for-like measure: a recorded live class runs long, with warm-ups, repetition and pauses, while ours are edited into short classes that each teach one thing. A new course or choreography is added every week on a public release schedule.

The emphasis is technique and progression: every course is a skill tree of modules in a recommended order, with XP, levels and badges, and a glossary of 300+ moves and terms quotes each definition verbatim from the lesson notes. Inside each module, the class breaks the step down into the techniques that make it look and feel good, and those techniques come back each time a later step depends on them. Captions in 16 languages, and an in-app community with progress videos and technique Q&A. Taught On2 and, since 5 November 2026, Salsa On1 in four courses: footwork 101, 201 and 301, plus Partnerwork On1. Pro is $39 a month after a 7-day free trial; Guild Master at $59 adds two personal video feedbacks a month and at least two live group calls a month. Cancel inside the app, no email or call needed, and members in the EU and EEA can withdraw within 14 days of subscribing for a full refund, even after watching lessons. On Trustpilot it has 17 reviews, rated 5 stars.

The player. Classes are short and built for drilling rather than watching. Most are split into named sections (for footwork: the move, technique, practice, back view, slow motion), with an A/B loop, five playback speeds, frame-by-frame, footwork shown mirrored from the front and then from the back, and a camera mode that puts your mirrored webcam next to the mirrored instructor so you copy the movement in real time. The moves in a lesson link to the glossary, and an in-app assistant answers questions about the courses, lessons and moves. None of the other sites on this page describe tools like these on their public pages.

Where it is weaker, for now: it is the newest platform on this list, so the community is smaller (17 reviews against Dance Dojo's thousands of students) and the track record shorter. There is no lifetime option, it is a subscription, and Guild Master has no free trial. Live calls are Guild Master only. If you dance On1, the four Salsa On1 courses are open since 5 November 2026, but the rest of the catalogue is taught On2 and danced On1 with three published rules.

Best for: dancers who want a structured On2 path from zero, with footwork, partnerwork and body movement as separate courses in one place and a progression system that keeps them practising; people who train alone and want a player built for drilling; anyone who wants each step broken down into its techniques and written definitions, not just video. The reasons to pick another platform are real: On1 today, live classes on a cheaper plan, a one-time price, or learning directly from a New York Mambo dynasty.

Run by Patrick and Scarlet, and the best-known name in online salsa. The salsa program is 364 on-demand lessons in a progressive six-module structure (partner work, lead and follow, turns, shines, body movement, musicality) plus bonus modules, covering both On1 and On2, for a one-time $299 (shown on 3 November as a Black Friday price, $50 off) with lifetime access and a 30-day money-back guarantee. A free week of unlimited access needs no card. Their site quotes a 4.95/5 rating from 3,000+ students, and they publish a large library of free guides (around 36 at the time of writing) plus a glossary of terms. Where it is weaker for an On2 dancer: it is not On2-specific. The program teaches linear salsa in both timings, so the On2 material is a portion of the whole, and there is no gamified progression system. The free week and the 30-day guarantee take most of the risk out of paying $299 at once.

Best for: dancers who want both timings, prefer paying once, and value a large, established community and reading material.

A New York school's online arm, On2 only. 246+ HD lessons across Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced, with shines and partnerwork separated, over 20 hours of ladies' styling, live online classes, guest workshops and a private community. $39 a month with a 7-day free trial, or $349 a year (no trial on the yearly plan); a limited-time offer on the same page was lower still. A personal 15-minute onboarding call with Joel or Maria is included.

Where it is weaker: the library is organised by level, and within a level by topic, so you choose your own order. Best for: dancers who want authentic New York On2 with a live, workshop-driven feel and a large partnerwork catalogue.

Run by Eddie Torres Jr. (Eduardo Torres), the son of Eddie Torres, with Princess Serrano, and hosted on Skool. $29 a month, the lowest monthly price on this page, for a vault of 100+ hours of classes across Mambo, Pachanga, Rumba, Cha Cha and Salsa Caleña, a weekly interactive Zoom class, new content weekly, history and documentaries, and choreography bootcamps. It is the Torres family's own school: the Eddie Torres system, taught by his son.

Where it is weaker: it is organised as an academy vault plus live classes rather than a beginner-to-advanced textbook, so complete beginners may need to work out their own order. Best for: dancers committed specifically to New York Mambo who want weekly live contact with a New York academy.

The online academy of New York's Empire Mambo, taught by Adolfo Indacochea and Tania Cannarsa, two of the best-known names in Mambo. 200+ hours of lessons on a path from beginner to advanced, live classes and monthly masterclasses, personalised feedback, a community of 600+ dancers, and a 7-day free trial.

Where it is weaker: the public page does not state the price or how often the live classes run, so check both during the trial. Best for: dancers who want to learn Mambo from two of its most recognised teachers, with live contact and a large library.

A UK school teaching On2, established in 2005. £25 a month for an on-demand library of 300+ tutorials (partnerwork, shines, body movement, styling, turns, musicality, cha cha, pachanga) plus live interactive Zoom classes, which can also be joined pay-per-class. A standalone six-lesson beginners course is £15 one-off, and their Introduction to On2 for On1 dancers is one of the few courses built specifically for the On1-to-On2 switch.

Where it is weaker: the platform is a simpler video library than the app-style products on this list. Best for: value, live classes included in the monthly price, and On1 dancers making the transition.

A one-time $97 video course from a New York On2 teacher with 25 years of experience, built around learning timing from the conga drum, with modules on rhythm, spinning, partnerwork, steps, technique and styling, plus curated practice playlists and a community. Where it is weaker: a single course, not a growing library, and no live classes mentioned. Best for: beginners who want one inexpensive, complete On2 course with a strong musical method.

Several individual On2 courses exist (for example a Level 1 beginner footwork course for New York style, about 40 minutes of video), sold per course and frequently discounted. Where it is weaker: quality and length vary a lot between instructors, and there is no progression from one course to the next. Best for: trying On2 for the price of a cinema ticket before committing to anything.
