What This Module Trains 🎯
The third way to interpret the campana is with your Pachanga. You mark the downbeat, 1 3 5 7.
The Instrument 🥁
- Pachanga. The Pachanga works really well because it marks the downbeat.
- 1 3 5 7. When you dance Pachanga we go 1 3 5 7.
- Shoulder bounce. If we really want to hit that metallic accent, the key is to use that shoulder bounce.
- Pachanga bounce. With the Pachanga, you have the bounce, which is forward with the knees.
- Sharp arm. If I'm doing my Guaguancó, my Rumba, instead of going 1 3 5 7, go 1 3 sharp with the arm.
- Basic Pachanga. This is just going to be 1 2 3 and 5 6 7.
How the Drill Runs 🔁
- Prepare on 7 8.
- Basic, basic, one last time.
Technique Cues 💡
- Your knee comes front, not your foot.
- Prepare to the back, not to the side.
- Every time you come down, go back with your shoulders.
💡 Drill it: every time you do it, try to do it a little bit sharper.
🎯 Community
Practice without judging yourself. Every dancer started exactly where you are. Be patient. This lands in the body over months, not days. Record yourself. You will see things you cannot feel. Post it in the community tab, or on Instagram tagging the page.
