Toe-Heel-Toe Principle

Also called: toe heel toe, toe-heel, toe-heel weight shift

Definition

Stepping with a consistent toe-heel weight shift so the hips naturally swing side to side, with the hip always on the opposite side of the standing leg. The exception is the step back on count 6, which stays on the toe.
