What This Module Trains π―
Angles apply to every move you learn in Cha Cha Cha.
The Move π§
- Full count angle. I just do my basic step to my diagonal, back to the center, and then to the other diagonal.
- Half count angle. Instead of going on 8 and 1 to the diagonal and 8 and 1 on the next one, I go 8 and 1 2 3, 4 and 5 6 7, 8 and 1, so I am essentially crossing here.
- Tootsie Roll. Here I cross on 1, I go two on my toe, and now I go down on this 2, and then I come up.
- Walker. The Walker is on the same timing as your Suzy Q, and it is the same as your full count, but we are just cutting down those two hits, so we are just walking.
How the Drill Runs π
- Tootsie Roll, Pachanga full count, Walker.
- Half count diagonals, full count, Walkers, out.
Technique Cues π‘
- Seven is when you angle.
- Use the hip on the Tootsie Roll.
- On the half count, step back on the left on 4.
π‘ Drill it: use your angle every single time.
π― Community
Practice without judging yourself. Every dancer started exactly where you are. Be patient. This lands in the body over months, not days. Record yourself. You will see things you cannot feel. Post it in the community tab, or on Instagram tagging the page.
