Danzon

Definition

An elegant, European-influenced Cuban ballroom music and dance, danced upright with a rigid frame and relatively straight legs, strictly on the downbeat. The first official Danzon, "Las Alturas de Simpson," was debuted by Miguel Failde in 1879.
