Son Cubano Enters the Chat π
Son Cubano is the mother dance that gave birth to Salsa.
The Pattern
Back, front, side on counts 1, 2, 3. Repeat on the other side: 5, 6, 7.
Arms: The Metal Bar Rule π―
Your elbows move in opposition; one comes in, the other goes out, as if connected by an invisible bar. They always move together, always stay the same distance apart.
On count 1: left elbow in, right elbow out.
Frame
Arms stay in front of your body at all times, like you're holding a partner in a close embrace.
The Critical Transition
π Watch count 1 closely. That's where your back step and your elbow motion happen simultaneously. Nail that moment and the whole step flows.
π‘ This step is pure gold in a close embrace, romantic, expressive, and totally within your 1 2 3 / 5 6 7 framework.
π― Experiment with this step in your practice. Try it slow, try it to music. Make it feel like yours.
