What This Module Trains π―
Hearing how repetitive the music is, and giving each part its own step.
The Idea π§
- 3 and a break. The coro is going to be repeating for at least four to eight times.
- Sonero. The sonero is going to be the singer.
- Coro. The coro is going to be the chorus.
- Call and response. You are going to have a call and response between the sonero and the coro.
- Trumpets. The trumpets are going to take over and do another four counts of call and response.
- Swing step. This is going to be 1, swing, 2 3 4, and you are going to tap.
- Step tap. If you don't know the swing step, just do a step tap.
How the Drill Runs π
- Coro. Cross on 5 6 7, open close, basic. Four times.
- Trumpets. Accent, then swing step. Four times.
- Step tap, then basic.
- Freestyle in between.
Technique Cues π‘
- The coro is the easiest part to highlight.
- You can also highlight the call and response from the trumpets.
- You are never going to do the same step so many times in a row.
π‘ Drill it: four times on the coro, swing step for the trumpets.
